So according to our syllabus "The One That Rules Them All", on September 4th we did a response to another professor's blog post. This one was about choosing the right words I guess. As I said before, I believe the words that you choose have a different impact on each different person. Like when sometimes you are joking with a friend and call them an idiot. Some people take that offensive and don't know how to take a joke, when others laugh and carry on. Me personally, I guess joking around with you like that means I like you. Are we allowed to swear on here? Anyways, in a gist of things, in today's day and age we have to watch what we say because "words will hurt you" as we've seen with bullying and other sorts of things.
Here is the link to the blog post that we responded to:

P.S. Did the large text and bright colors throw you off?
#powerofwords
yes the bright text threw me off a lot!!! Good post, short. I like it! hahaha I agree that words impact people differently.
ReplyDeleteYour post is totally entertaining me! You are so meta here. I love the questions directly to me about how the font and color effected my reading, and the wondering out loud about the boundaries for blogging-for-school, and just your tone is so readable and engaging.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for noticing my syllabus title. (I am sometimes only funny to myself :)
Yes, the font and color did throw me off. And yes, I love that you ask me about it. And that you want to disrupt my reading by making it strange...
sigh, thanks for this great post.
way to be creative. i like it. Like Nikki said, this post is short..and sweet just like me! hah, but anyway yea i agree with what you said about different words affecting different people. I'm super sarcastic and my humor is dry so I've noticed that firsthand!
ReplyDeleteThis was a very creative and funny post. I enjoyed reading this because you are writing out of your heart instead of as a response to a prompt.
